OC boys and girls basketball highlights and final scores for Friday, Jan. 26

Boys basketball

SURF LEAGUE

Los Alamitos 77, Newport Harbor 64: Los Alamitos (20-4, 3-0) was led by Tyler Lopez who had 16 points. Dilayehu Wempe added 14 points, Samori Guyness and Wes Trevino had 12 points each and Liam Gray 11 points.

GARDEN GROVE LEAGUE

Rancho Alamitos 61, Bolsa Grande 46: Rancho Alamitos (5-3) was led by Inoke Malo, who had 25 points and eight rebounds. Henry Phan added 21 points and five assists and Ozzy Ramos had 17 rebounds for the Vaqueros.

FREEWAY LEAGUE

SEA VIEW LEAGUE

El Toro 78, Mission Viejo 67: El Toro (9-16, 4-3) took the league win at home vs. Mission Viejo (9-18, 0-7) in a game that featured 50 fouls and 60 free throws. It was senior night, but juniors did most of the damage for El Toro. Christien Jimenez had 37 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists. Lydo Smith had 16 points and three 3-pointers and Kaleb Bass had eight points, 10 rebounds and five blocks.

Seniors Will Siewert and Aidan McMichael each scored seven points. Austin Whitehead led Mission Viejo with 20 points. Alexander Frost and Bradley Farzley each had 10 points.

CRESTVIEW LEAGUE

Foothill 80, Villa Park 67 (OT): The Knights clinched a share of the league title. Travis Paleo scored 22 points, Isaiah Bernard had 13 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two blocks; Mansur McClain had 13 points and Kai Nixon and Danny Kennard eight points each for Foothill.

NORTH HILLS LEAGUE

El Dorado 67, El Modena 45: Andrew Salvador had 14 points, Noah Barker 13 points and Marcelo Gonzalez 12 points to help the Hawks clinch the North Hills League championship.

SAN JOAQUIN LEAGUE

Pacifica Christian 47, Capo Valley Christian 43: The Tritons were led by Logan Stewart, who had 14 points and 10 rebounds; Michael Noel, who had 11 points, Alex Stewart, who had nine points and EJ Spillman who had eight points and seven assists.

EMPIRE LEAGUE

Cypress 66, Kennedy 44: The league-leading Centurions won the final Empire League game between the two teams Friday night. Cypress is 8-0 in league and one game ahead of second place Crean Lutheran. The teams play Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Cypress.

Jonah Kim had 19 points and two 3-pointers, Ryan Gov 18 points and three 3-pointers and Jackson Houston 10 points to lead Cypress.

Tustin 53, Pacifica 36: The Tillers were led by Johnny Villagrana, who had 14 points and seven rebounds; Carson Jue, who had 12 points and five rebounds and Johnny Sagarino, who had 10 points and five rebounds.

Crean Lutheran 83, Valencia 54

ORANGE COAST LEAGUE

Costa Mesa 82, Saddleback 54: The league-leading Mustangs (15-11, 9-1) inched closer to the league title on senior night. Marlee Slone had 20 points, Dylan Dunbar 14 points and five assists and Kembe Howerton nine points and 23 rebounds to lead the Mustangs.

GOLDEN WEST LEAGUE

Segerstrom 61, Ocean View 52: The Jaguars (8-17, 4-4) were led by Gilbert Vargas, who had 22 points and Issac Camarena, who had 16 points. Segerstrom is in third place entering the final week of the regular season.

TRINITY LEAGUE

JSerra 67, Orange Lutheran 58: The Lions (21-4, 5-3) capped a big week in league play with a win. Wednesday night, JSerra notched the program’s first win over Mater Dei. CLICK HERE FOR STORY

Friday night, Aidan Fowler had 21 points and Sebastian Rancik 19 points to lead the Lions, who were again led by head coach Keith Wilkinson.

St. John Bosco 64, Santa Margarita 55: Santa Margarita (17-7, 4-4) was led by Dallas Washington who had 20 points and Brayden Kyman who had 10 points and six rebounds. DeMarco Johnson had seven assists and Tobias Averill eight points.

Mater Dei 82, Servite 46

Girls basketball

PACIFIC COAST LEAGUE

Woodbridge 58, Northwood 28: The Warriors were led by Hana Watanabe, who had 23 points and Teagan Burrus, who had 12 points. Burrus reached 1,000 points in her career.

Sage Hill 84, Portola 49: Amalia Holguin scored 21 points, Anabelle Spotts 17 points and Emily Eadie 12 points to lead Sage Hill. Kira Watanabe had 29 points and Kalynne Abraham-Mendez 12 points for Portola.

NORTH HILLS LEAGUE

Yorba Linda 52, Canyon 45: Canyon was led by Mariah Streeter and Jasmine Prajitno who had 12 points each, Sofi Majidi, who had nine points and Justine Prajitno, who scored eight points.
