El Dorado’s girls basketball team wrapped up its regular season with a 42-23 victory on senior night over Canyon in a Crestview League game Tuesday night at El Dorado.
The Golden Hawks evened their record at 14-14 overall (2-6 in league) and are planning to petition the CIF for an at-large berth in the CIF playoffs. Playoff pairings will be announced Saturday.
After trailing 14-13 at halftime, El Dorado used a strong second half and won going away. The Golden Hawks avenged an earlier season loss to the Comanches.
El Dorado guard Riley Morikawa led all scorers with 15 points. Delaney Shiring scored 12 points and freshman Isabella Chung added 10 points for the Golden Hawks.
Junior guard Zulymar Velazquez led Canyon (12-16, 3-4) with 14 points.
