Orange County boys basketball highlights, final scores for Tuesday, Jan. 13

SAN JOAQUIN LEAGUE

PACIFICA CHRISTIAN 75, CAPO VALLEY CHRISTIAN 53: The Tritons were led by Joaquin Rigdon, who had 14 points and five assists and Donovan Hogan, who had 12 points and 11 rebounds. Michel Noel added 10 points and Solomon Huang nine points.

PACIFIC COAST LEAGUE

IRVINE 57, UNIVERSITY 23: Irvine led wire to wire to top University at Uni. The Vaqueros (11-10, 2-1) led 22-10 at halftime and broke open the game in the second half.

Junior guard Chase Brito was Irvine’s leading scorer with 11 points and three 3-pointers. A quartet of Vaqueros each had seven points: junior guard Holden Stearns, senior guard Bentley Nguyen, freshman forward Francisco Martinez and junior center Evan Terakawa.

University (5-14, 1-2) was led by junior center Abdallah Shami (six points, 12 rebounds and four blocks). Senior forward Josh Thio added five points.

PORTOLA 50, WOODBRIDGE 48: Chase Wright led Portola (16-5, 3-0) with nine points. Woodbridge (13-8, 1-2) had a chance to tie the game on its final possession but was unable to convert.

GROVE LEAGUE

WESTERN 55, SANTIAGO 47: Kalani Tran had 17 points and five assists; Shaan Rana had 14 points, five rebounds and three assists; Omar Flores 12 points and 12 rebounds to lead Western (7-13, 3-0).

NON-LEAGUE

EL DORADO 69, BREA OLINDA 57: The Golden Hawks (19-3) were led by Jack Boetter with 15 points. Elias Rodarte had 13 points, nine in the fourth quarter and Noah Querubin 11 points. El Dorado scored 27 points in the fourth quarter.

SANTA MARGARITA 80, MAYFAIR 43: The Eagles (20-3) were led by Drew Anderson who had 28 points and eight rebounds. Brayden Kyman had 14 points and three 3-pointers, Kaiden Bailey 12 points and Krawford Bailey seven points.

ACADEMY LEAGUE

TARBUT V’ TORAH 76, NEWPORT CHRISTIAN 58: Eli Feinberg had a double-double with 11 points and 11 assists while Ori Maya scored 19 points with five 3-pointers and 11 rebounds for the Lions (7-5, 1-0). Ari Varon scored 28 points including eight 3-pointers which put him over the 1,000 point mark for his career with five games remaining. As a team, TVT made 19 three pointers. Also, this was the 50^th career win at TVT for Coach Shawn Larkins.

FREEWAY LEAGUE

VILLA PARK 52, YORBA LINDA 47: The Spartans (13-10, 1-2) earned their first league win Tuesday. Jorden Salem had 17 points and Hayden Hakala 11 points. Josh Willerer led Yorba Linda with 15 points.

CRESTVIEW LEAGUE

TRINITY LEAGUE

ST. JOHN BOSCO 85, MATER DEI 64: Mater Dei (14-8, 1-1) was led by Richie Ramirez with 19 points. Zain Majeed had 18 points and Malloy Smith 10 points.
