Yorba Linda’s boys basketball team used a big second quarter push and went on to defeat Century 55-47 Wednesday night in a nonleague game at Yorba Linda.
The Mustangs outscored Century 16-5 in the second quarter to take a 33-17 halftime lead.
Yorba Linda (9-4) was led by Cory Knutson, who scored 17 points and Omair Memon, who had 13 points.
Century (6-6) was led by Jesus Bautista with 20 points and Eduardo Sorto with 14 points. The Centurions made it close in the second half, outscoring Yorba Linda 30-22.
Santiago 61, Irvine 45: The Cavaliers (6-5) were led by David Briseno who scored 17 points and Chris Hill with 11 points in the Lodinez Tournament game against Irvine (4-7).
