“I think we will be battled tested by the time we get to league,” Woodbridge Coach Rick Gibson said after Friday’s game.
“And we’re going to need to be. I know that some teams have lost, but that doesn’t mean anything. Their trying stuff and they’re just trying to get better every week and so are we. I’m just hoping the tough schedule will pay off when we get to league.”
Pacifica (2-1) won its first two games, defeating Norwalk 55-6 and Trabuco Hills 21-19 before losing to Capistrano Valley 47-7 last week.
Woodbridge has another tough one next week, playing Santa Ana on Thursday, Sept. 13 at Santa Ana Valley. Santa Ana was ranked No. 1 in Division 8 and Woodbridge No. 2 in last week’s rankings.
The new rankings are scheduled to be released Tuesday.
