University High soccer star Gabriella Souza will be continuing her athletic career at Dominican University of California.
“I am most looking forward to playing with and meeting new people at Dominican,” Souza said in comments provided by the University High athletic department.
“I am most looking forward to be able to explore the big city of San Francisco, while also being able to explore different national parks and forests around Dominican.”
Souza also thanked those who have helped her.Â
“I definitely attribute my accomplishments as a student-athlete to my parents,” she said. “They’ve pushed me to be the best version of me in school and soccer, even when it was hard or frustrating to do so.”
On Friday University athletic secretary Meredith Kohl said school officials hope to be able to have an on-campus signing event for Souza and other athletes when conditions improve. Six University High athletes signed in November, but there was no on-campus ceremony due to the coronavirus pandemic.
