It’s a big night of high school girls and boys basketball in Orange County.
All Pacific Coast League games will be played Thursday this week instead of Friday, including the early Pacific Coast League girls showdown between Woodbridge and University at 5:30 p.m. at University.
The teams are tied for first place in the PCL.
University has won the last two PCL titles going undefeated each season under former Coach Nicole Bradshaw. The Trojans are 3-0 in league this year so their league winning streak is 23 games.
Woodbridge (12-7, 3-0) will be out to knock off the Trojans, who are led by first year coach Fidel Vargas. Woodbridge, coached by Keith Clarkson, has the most dominant player in the league, center Erika Maggard.
The boys game will be held at approximately 7 p.m.
There are some other interesting boys basketball match-ups today:
—Cypress played South Torrance at the Staples Center in an afternoon game.
—In the Orange League, Century will host Savanna at 5:30 p.m. in a match-up of two teams who are undefeated in league play at 3-0.
—In the Pacific Coast League, Beckman (11-10, 3-0) will try and remain atop the league with a victory over Northwood (6-15, 1-2) at Northwood. That game starts at 7 p.m. after the 5:30 p.m. girls game. Irvine and Portola play a girls boys doubleheader starting at 5:30 p.m. at Portola.
OC Sports Zone will have game coverage and highlights of a busy night of basketball so please check back later tonight.
