CIF Southern Section officials announced the seedings and brackets for the first post-season boys and girls lacrosse championships for the section on Saturday. Previous post season playoffs have been conducted by U.S. Lacrosse.
The tournaments will begin Tuesday, May 25 with boys wild card rounds in selected divisions and the boys Division 1 playoffs followed by the girls wild card games on Wednesday, May 26.
CIF officials said there are 56 boys teams and and 47 girls programs vying for the first championships in the history of the section. All championship games will be played at host school sites with boys Divisions 1 and 2 culminating on Tuesday, June 8 and Division 3 on Friday, June 4. The girls finals will be played Wednesday, June 9 in both Division 1 and 2 and Division 3 on Saturday, June 5.
BOYS LACROSSE
DIVISION 1 (32-Team Bracket, 25 Entries)

Match-ups among Orange County teams on Tuesday. May 25, include San Clemente at Santa Margarita, Newbury Park at Yorba Linda, Servite at Sierra Canyon, Great Oak at St. Margaret’s, Newport Harbor at Santiago Corona, Trabuco Hills at Los Alamitos and Crespi at Beckman.
Teams who received byes were Corona del Mar, Foothill, Tesoro and Mater Dei.,
DIVISION 2 (16-Team Bracket, 18 Entries)

There will be two wild card matches on Tuesday, May 25: Edison at Peninsula and Huntington Beach at Peninsula.
First-round matches involving Orange County teams on Friday, May 28 include El Segundo at San Juan Hills, Woodbridge at San Marcos, Crean Lutheran at Aliso Niguel, wild card winner at Northwood and El Dorado at Culver City.
DIVISION 3 (16-Team Bracket, 13 Entries)

First round match-ups on Saturday, May 29 include wild card winner at Foothill, Chaminde at Newport Harbor, Mater Dei at University, Edison at San Clemente and wild card winner at Santa Margarita.

Segerstrom, Mission Viejo and Portola all have first round byes. Segerstrom will face Mission Viejo and Portola will host Norco in the quarterfinals Saturday, May 29.
