Portola High School’s girls lacrosse team clinched the outright Pacific Coast League title Monday with a 12-8 victory over Northwood. Portola (16-1 overall, best in school history and 12-1 in league) finishes the regular season with senior night Wednesday vs. Laguna Hills.

It’s the first league title in lacrosse for the school.

“This group of girls is really something special,” said Portola Coach Jeralyn Newton. “They have played their hearts out and have supported each other through all of the highs and lows. I can’t think of a group that is more deserving of this league title. They have made school history and it has been an honor watching them reach their full potential.”

Portola goalkeeper Amy Bebawy had six saves and recorded her 100th save of the season.  Jadyn Zdanavage scored seven goals and notched her 100th goal of the season. She is one goal shy of 300 for her career.
