Segerstrom’s boys basketball team remained in the hunt for the CIF playoffs with a 61-52 victory over Ocean View Friday night at Ocean View.

Gilbert Vargas scored 22 points and Issac Camerana had 16 points to lead Coach Eddie Andrade’s team (8-17, 4-4).
Segerstrom is in third place in the league entering the final week of the regular season. The Jaguars host second place Westminster on Tuesday and Katella on Thursday with both games starting at 6:30 p.m.
Three teams from the league advance to the CIF playoffs. It’s the last year of the Golden West League with teams moving to new leagues next year. With a victory over Westminster, Segerstrom could end up in second place.
Ocean View is 13-13 overall and 2-6 in league play.
