Segerstrom’s boys basketball team put up a battle but lost to El Rancho 48-43 Monday night in the finals of its division in the Oxford Academy Tournament.

“Congrats to El Rancho for winning the tournament,” said Jaguars Coach Rex Gonzales. “My respect to the coach and their team. It was a tough loss. The 50/50 balls we have been getting all tournament didn’t fall our way today.”
Ricky Carballea led Segerstrom (8-8) with 15 points. He averaged 17 points during the tournament. Adrian Dominguez added nine points for the Jaguars.
El Rancho (10-8) was led by Adam Rivas with 13 points and William Soria with 12 points.
