In four innings on the hill the senior allowed two hits and struck out eight to improve his record to 8-1 on the season. He also went 3 for 3 with two doubles, two runs and an RBI. Senior Jake Martinez pitched the final three innings striking out five to earn his fourth save.

For the second game in a row, senior Thomas Gonzales scored three runs for the league champion Breakers. Senior first baseman/outfielder Dane Jenal and junior catcher Parker Moore each collected two hits for the Breakers. Parker had a pair of RBI.

Laguna Beach collected 11 hits on the day vs. just four for Uni. Senior outfielder Brennan Collins had a double for the Trojans while junior shortstop Sean Maher, junior DH Isaak Hsieh and senior center fielder Jameson LoBianco each had a single.

Laguna Beach (23-3, 13-1) and University (12-14, 5-9) each have one non-league game left in the regular season. The Breakers are headed to the CIF playoffs. University needed to split the series to have a chance to qualify as an-large team in the CIF playoffs with a .500 record.
