Orange County boys basketball highlights and final scores for Wednesday, Jan. 29

TRINITY LEAGUE

JSERRA 62, MATER DEI 52: The Lions notched their fourth victory in a row over the Monarchs dating back to last season. BJ Davis-Ray scored 23 points, Grayson Sinek had 10 points and Brannon Martinsen nine points to lead JSerra (20-5, 6-2) to the win at Mater Dei.

Mater Dei (19-6, 5-2) was led by Luke Barnett who had 15 points and Demarcus Henry and Blake Davidson, who had 14 points each. Davidson also had eight rebounds.

SANTA MARGARITA 82, ORANGE LUTHERAN 36: The Eagles (19-5, 5-2) were led by Brayden Kyman, who had 16 points and three 3-pointers. Rodney Westmoreland scored 13 points and had five assists and three steals, Dallas Washington had 13 points and six rebounds and Drew Anderson had 12 points, six assists and six rebounds.

GOLDEN WEST LEAGUE

SANTA ANA 59, WESTMINSTER 50: The Saints, led by a 27-point performance of senior Issac Alvarez, stayed alive in the CIF playoff race with a win on senior night.

EMPIRE LEAGUE

TUSTIN 63, FULLERTON 33: The league-leading Tillers inched closer to the league title with a win Wednesday. Yuri Klines had 16 points, Brady Kong 11 points and Hernandez eight points and 10 rebounds to lead Tustin (20-6, 6-0).

Tustin’s Ethan Contreras broke the Tustin basketball all-time record for steals in a season previously set in 1991 by Thomas Clayton, according to Coach Ringo Bossenmeyer.

Luka Serratos scored 16 points to lead Fullerton (15-11, 2-4).

Calvary Chapel 59, Godinez 53

SOUTH COAST LEAGUE

SAN JUAN HILLS 57, TRABUCO HILLS 47: Mason Hodges scored 17 points, Trey Webb had 14 points, Cameron Goltara nine points and Jackson Tilden six points to lead the Stallions (20-7, 6-0).

SAN CLEMENTE 69, DANA HILLS 29: The Tritons (21-5, 5-1) were led by Porter Hansen with 19 points and five 3-pointers. Christian Fernandez had 13 points and Davis Blake nine points.

SEA VIEW LEAGUE

EL TORO 50, MISSION VIEJO 49: El Toro trailed for almost the entirety of the last three quarters, but scored with 29 seconds left and played enough defense to escape with a critical, one point league win over Mission Viejo on the Diablos senior night. El Toro forced five turnovers in the fourth quarter to close out the game with a 21-8 run.

El Toro (15-11, 3-3) was led by senior point guard Christien Jimenez (17 points, eight rebounds and five assists). Backcourt classmate Lydo Smith scored all dozen of his points in the final quarter.

Senior center Kaleb Bass equaled his number 11 uniform number with a double double (11 points and 11 rebounds) and scored the game-winning bucket. Sophomore guard Sean Mendoza finished with nine points.

Sophomore forward Xander Willard had 14 points and some crowd-pleasing blocks for Mission Viejo (10-16, 2-5). Junior point guard Damian Navarro had 12 points and senior Brandon Acosta scored nine points off the bench.
