Tustin 61, Valencia 33: The Tillers (17-8, 4-3) were led by Josh Birket who had 16 points and 10 rebounds; Johnny Sagarino, who had 16 points’ and Johnny Villagrana who scored 10 points and had eight rebounds.
Crean Lutheran 72, Pacifica 46: The league leading Saints (18-6, 7-0) were led by Kaiden Bailey, who had 18 points; Dylan Gomez, who had 17 points, three rebounds and three assists; and Braeden Davidson, who scored 12 points, grabbed four rebounds and had three assists. Crean Lutheran’s program has won 28 league games in a row going back to 2020.
Crean Lutheran meets JSerra Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Nike Extravaganza at Mater Dei.
Cypress 64, Kennedy 34: The Centurions remain one game behind league-leading Crean Lutheran and play the Saints Monday at 6:15 p.m. at Crean Lutheran.
“We played with a sense of urgency tonight,” said Cypress Coach Derek Mitchell. “Monday is a big game for us, we’ve been working hard in practice for this opportunity. Crean (Lutheran) has been playing well, it’s going to be a dog fight.”
Cypress (14-11, 6-1) was led by Kason White, hwo had 12 points and six rebounds. Jonah Kim had nine points and five rebounds and Jonas Hanson scored eight points.
Pacific Coast League
Beckman 73, Portola 66: The Patriots (14-10, 5-2) were led by Caydon Do, who had 24 points. Abhi Archarya had 15 points, Miguel Llanes 14 points and Sam Evans 12 points. Portola (14-11, 3-3) was led by Ryan Chu, who had 19 points; Devin Daniel, who had 17 and Jayden Villanueva, who had 12.
GIRLS
Pacific Coast League
Portola 63, Beckman 42: Portola (21-5, 3-1) was led by Moka Saiki, who had 21 points and eight rebounds and Nina Saiki, who scored 16 points.
Courtney Yada scored 17 points and Natasha Jafari 11 points for Beckman.
