Northwood’s boys basketball team won its second consecutive game at the Grizzly Invitational, defeating Savanna 52-37 Tuesday night at Godinez.
The Timberwolves (2-1) were led by Amit Flint and Shandon Sharifi, who scored 15 points each and Seth Locke, who scored 10 points.
Northwood led 26-23 at halftime and broke the game open by outscoring Savanna 14-3 in the third quarter.
“We had a good team effort tonight,” said interim Northwood Coach Yousof Etemadi. “It was a good win after last night’s tough win against San Clemente.  Our group is slowly trending in the right direction.”
“It was a good victory, we just won one last night and we were a bit choppy in the beginning but we finished off strong,” added Flint, a sophomore. “The third quarter was a big quarter for us and we got the win.”
Savanna (0-1) was led by Waleed Khaliq (16 points) and Emmanuel Aparacio (15 points).
