Newport Harbor guard Sam Barela announced on Twitter Wednesday that he has committed to continue his basketball career at Chapman University.
The Sailors’ head coach Robert Torribio confirmed the announcement.
Barela was the co-MVP of the Sunset League and averaged 12 points a game helping lead the Sailors to a 25-5 record. He also averaged eight assists a game and set the school record for assists in a season, Torribio said.
