Although it hasn’t been determined when the 2020 high school football season will begin in Orange County and throughout the state, a number of school districts have already taken initial steps which could eventually lead to the start of football.

Tustin Unified School District officials announced Thursday that Tustin and Foothill will begin football camps Monday, June 15 and Beckman will start Monday, June 22. A number of guidelines will have to be followed, including social distancing.

Newport Mesa Unified School District and Irvine Unified School District officials announced plans for camps beginning Monday, July 6.

High school sports have been on hold since the coronavirus pandemic began in March. Most football teams are scheduled to start their seasons on Friday, Aug. 21, but there has been no confirmation yet that will happen and CIF officials say they are looking at all options.

We realize our readers are always excited about the start of the season. While we can’t tell you exactly when that will be (we’ve heard anywhere from August to possibly as late as January) we want to let you there is a way to look back at some of the photos and stories from 2019 so you can relive some of the memories.

This is available exclusively on our OC Sports Zone desktop platform. Please go to the top of the page and click on the scoreboard for the game you are looking for. For the games we covered, there are stories and photos.

The first score we have listed is the state 1A championship contest between Corona del Mar and Serra. CdM completed a perfect 16-0 season with a 35-27 victory on Dec. 14 at Cerritos College.

In addition to the football scores, we have boys basketball and girls basketball scores along with the story links of games we covered.
