Edison’s boys basketball team improved its record to 6-2 with a 55-43 victory over Santa Barbara Thursday night in the Beach Bash Tourney at Corona del Mar.
The Chargers were led offensively by Connor Collins, who scored 17 points and Brad Luna who scored 16. Jackie Kwok had 12 points and Luke Serven 10 points.
Edison defeated Valley View 49-34 on Wednesday night.
The 12-team tournament continues Thursday night with the final game of the night featuring Pacifica Christian and Corona del Mar at 7:30 p.m.
Newport Harbor 61, San Juan Hills 57: The Sailors won a pool play tournament game at the St. Margaret’s Tournament. Robbie Spooner scored 23 points and Levin Darrow had 12 points to lead Newport Harbor (9-3).
Cypress 83, Blair 41: The Centurions notched a win at the Bellflower Tournament and will play La Serna in the consolation final Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at Bellfower. Christian Chai led Cypress with 20 points and four 3-pointers.
Eddie Spencer had 18 points and two 3-pointers and Elijah Vaielua scored 10 points for the Centurions.
Capo Valley Christian 64, Murrieta 59: The Eagles advanced in pool play at their own tournament and will face Mission Viejo Friday at 7 p.m.
JSerra 85, Crean Lutheran 39: JSerra notched a victory at the Eagle Classic.
