CYPRESS 66, LA MIRADA 64: The Centurions rallied from a 12-point halftime deficit to record the road victory.
Cypress was led by Kody Papke who scored 22 points. Christian Chai added 14 points and Mark Onyejekwe scored 10 points, including eight in the final quarter.
“It was a great bounce back win after Saturday’s loss to Mater Dei,” said Cypress Coach Derek Mitchell. “The guys came out focused and paid attention to the details of the scouting report.”
Cypress (2-3) opens Empire League play Tuesday vs. Pacifica at 6 p.m. at Cypress.
PORTOLA 71, TROY 66: The Bulldogs (3-3) captured their third win a row. Ryan Chu scored 16 points, Josh Steinberg had 14 points, Patrick Miranda 11 points and Brandon Chang and Makai Brown scored nine points each.
Troy (1-5) was led by Kyle Phan, who scored 32 points. Pierre Haywood aded nine points and Rohan Patel eight points.
MATER DEI 75, CREAN LUTHERAN 31: The Monarchs were led by Harrison Hornery who had 20 points and five rebounds and made five of 7 3-point shots. Zack Davidson scored 16 points, grabbed four rebounds and had four assists and Nick Davidson had 12 points and three rebounds.
Crean Lutheran, which had victories over Calvary Chapel and Huntington Beach, is 2-1.
The Saints open Empire League play Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Tustin.
NEWPORT HARBOR 43, EL TORO 42: The Sailors won their season opener behind a 22-point performance by Levi Darrow. Darrow also grabed 12 rebounds.
