CREAN LUTHERAN 54, EL DORADO 48: The Saints (3-1) recorded the non-league win at home Wednesday night, led by the 23-point performance by Taylor Feldman.
“Maya Bland’s tough defense caused a lot of deflections and turnovers in the full court,” said Crean Lutheran co-coach Bianca Ziemann. “Taylor Feldman was a great floor leader tonight on both ends of the court. Sharp shooter Emily Reed went for 18 points (five made three-point shots).
“Overall, my staff and I were impressed with our team effort and heart for 32 minutes of play. We knew going into the game we would be facing a successful returning starting group with a tough supporting cast.”
PORTOLA 65, NORTHWOOD 47: Allyson Tabayoyong scored 25 points and Moka Saiki 16 points to lead Portola in its Pacific Coast League opener. Portola is 3-0 overall.
Alexis Chang scored 11 points, EJ Bradley had 10 points and Uma Joshi nine points for Northwood (0-2 in league).
