Crean Lutheran, Cypress, Portola, Northwood, Foothill and Costa Mesa record wins

CREAN LUTHERAN 84, TUSTIN 46: The Saints opened Empire League play with a victory at Tustin. Koat Keat scored 23 points, grabbed seven rebounds and had three assists to lead Crean Lutheran (3-1 overall). Mike Birket scored 21 points, had seven rebounds and two assists and James Agany had 11 points, five rebounds and three assists.

CYPRESS 71, PACIFICA 45: The Centurions evened their overall record at 3-3 with a victory in their Empire League opener.

Kody Papke and Dylan Higa scored 10 points each to lead the Centurions. Shaun Fabisiak scored 18 points and Jamaal Fisher 13 points to lead Pacific (4-2, 0-1).

“It was a good team win,” said Cypress Coach Derek Mitchell. “Everyone was able to contribute tonight. We have a tough match-up at Valencia on Friday.”

PORTOLA 68, IRVINE 57: Portola (4-3, 2-2) was led by Josh Steinberg, who scored 27 points in the Pacific Coast League game. Patrick Miranda added eight points for the Bulldogs, who have won four in a row.

Irvine (0-7, 0-5) was led by Nicholas DeLuca, who had 20 points and Faiz Shaik, who scored 14 points.

NORTHWOOD 65, LAGUNA HILLS 53: Amit Flint led Northwood in the PCL game with 24 points. Devon Huang scored 13 points and Mazen Shehab-Eldin 11 points for the Timberwolves.

David Moon led Laguna Hills with 25 points.

FOOTHILL 62, ESPERANZA 59: The Knights (10-2, 2-0) won their seventh in a row. Cruz Billings scored 22 points, Barrett Lehnertz had 10 points and seven rebounds, Trevor Telson had 11 points and Braedyn Benhard grabbed eight rebounds.

COSTA MESA 76, SADDLEBACK 40: The Mustangs opened Orange Coast League play with a victory. Christian Dasca and Nate Shipper scored 15 points each. Freshman Jordan Martin added 12 points and 12 rebounds.

The Mustangs play Estancia on Thursday.
