Northwood’s Shandon Sharifi commits to play basketball at CS Monterey Bay

Northwood High guard Shandon Sharifi made a commitment this week to play college basketball at Cal State Monterey Bay, according to Timberwolves’ coach Tim O’Brien.

Sharifi averaged 17 points a game this past season, earning first team all-Pacific Coast League honors the past two seasons.

“Shandon is a basketball junkie in that he loves to play basketball,” O’Brien said Sunday. “Shandon can make shots from long distance so he always is a threat and gives his team a chance.

“Shandon’s success comes from all the extra work he puts into training and shooting aside from what we did as a team. He doesn’t back down from anyone. He’s a good pick-up for CSMB.”

Sharifi played varsity basketball for four years. He transferred from El Toro to Northwood after his first season and then played at Northwood, starting the last two years.
