Officials of the Ryan Lemmon Foundation had a big decision to make on two high school baseball events for Orange County that it sponsors.
Both the Ryan Lemmon Spring Invitational Baseball Tournament and the Ryan Lemmon Showcase were moved to the newer and larger Great Park Baseball Stadium this year. In previous years both events were held at the smaller and older venue, Ryan Lemmon Stadium in Irvine.
A decision has been made about next year, according to Owens.
“Looks like we will go back to Ryan Lemmon (Stadium) next year June 5, 6, 7 (for the Ryan Lemmon Showcase),” said Dick Owens of the Ryan Lemmon Foundation. “They are putting shade, new seats and a new video board.”
This year’s showcase featured five all-star games which included seniors from 10 leagues in Orange County.
The annual spring baseball tournament will return to the Great Park for the second year and be held from March 28 to April 1, Owens said.
