Orange County high school baseball highlights, final scores for Tuesday, March 17

PACIFICA CHRISTIAN 14. WESTERN CHRISTIAN 8: Scout Escobedo was 4 for 5 with three runs scored, John Peterson 2 for 3 with four RBI, Garrett Woody 1 for 4 with three RBI and Johnny Coopman 1 for 3 with two RBI to lead Pacifica Christian. Coopman also pitched 4 2/3 innings, striking out four.

CYPRESS 5, VILLA PARK 3: The Centurions (7-3) were led by Jake DeLaquil who was 1 for 2 with a run scored, RBI and four stolen bases. Noah Johnson was 1 for 4 with an RBI, Dylan Keiliholakai was 1 for 3 with with an RBI and Gage Owens 1 for 1 with an RBI.

Tate Belafonti pitched 3 2/3 innings striking out eight and did not allow a hit or a a run to get the win, Drew Slevcove pitched three innings, allowing three hits and three earned runs and struck out six. Ben Martinez finished with 1/3 of an inning and did not allow a hit or run to earn the save.

FOOTHILL 11, CITRUS VALLEY 0: The Knights (9-2) earned another shutout Tuesday. Jackson Phillips earned the win pitching four innings, allowing one hit and striking out four. Evrett Rycroft was 2 for 3 with two runs scored, three RBI and two doubles, Presley Gaborno was 2 for 3 with a run scored and an RBI and three stolen bases, Patrick Petross was 2 for 3 with two runs scored, an RBI and a double and Brayden Bianchi was 1 for 2 with a run scored, RBI and a walk.

COSTA MESA 7, BECKMAN 3: The Mustangs (8-3). were led by Felix Tiquia, who pitched five innings, allowing four hits and striking out three. Brenton Rottschafter was 1 for 3 with a home run and three RBI, Tiquia was 2 for 3 with a run scored, Will Morales 2 for with a run scored and Ben Manchester 2 for 3 with a run scored. Beckman, coming off a 4-1 victory over Woodbridge Monday, dropped to 5-2-1 overall.

SERVITE 6, ALISO NIGUEL 2: Shane Wendler earned the victory for the Friars, allowing seven hits in four innings. He allowed two runs and struck out three. Wyatt Karges, Eli Rubel and Isaiah Camacho teamed up for three scoreless innings. Michael Cabral, Tommy Haubden and John Sullivan had RBI for Servite (7-3).

PACIFIC COAST LEAGUE

WOODBRIDGE 5, NORTHWOOD 0: The league-leading Warriors won the opening game of the two game series at Northwood. Kyle Underwood (2-2) pitched the first six innings to earn the win, his second impressive victory in league play.

Underwood allowed only just two hits and struck out 10. Joe Yasui pitched the seventh inning for Woodbridge. Vince DeMarco had two RBI, Vaughn Tase had a two-run single and Alex Johnson (RBI) and Underwood had doubles. The game was scoreless through three innings. Woodbrige (6-5, 3-0) has won its first three league games.

The teams play again Friday at Ryan Lemmon Stadium.
