Woodbridge High School’s girls soccer team, which captured the Pacific Coast League title this week, heads into the CIF Division 2 playoffs.

Fourth-seeded Woodbridge will host El Segundo in the opening round Thursday, Feb. 8 at 3:30 p.m.

The Warriors have a 13-3-2 overall record after finishing 8-0-2 in league play. Woodbridge wrapped up an undefeated league season with a 2-2 tie vs. Portola.

It’s the program’s first league title since 2020, according to Coach Jackie Farber.

Woodbridge clinched the title with a 1-0 victory over Beckman Tuesday.

Freshman Dyllan Harris had the game winning goal assisted by junior Yaz Miremadi.

“Our squad has been primarily lead on the field this season by our head captain, Maci Land, a four-year varsity player (midfielder) headed to play Division 1 soccer at LMU in the fall,” Farber said.

“We’ve also had big time performances all season from senior Milan Heisdorf, (defense, committed to UCI for soccer) and Sabine Ramos, (midfield, captain, four-year varsity player committed to Cal Poly Pomona). Freshman Laney Brucker has been extremely impactful for us on defense in only her first season on varsity.

“She has a very bright future in this program. I also have another senior captain, Bella Venegas committed to Chico State in the fall who plays forward for us.”
