Talented young Woodbridge athletes lead boys and girls cross country teams

Woodbridge High School’s cross country teams, led by Coach Bryan Pacheco, have some talented young runners hoping to lead their teams to successful seasons.

The top male athlete is sophomore Aiden Zavala, who was one of the Warriors’ top runners last year as a freshman and had the fastest mile time (15:27) for a freshman in Woodbridge history, according to Pacheco.

“He has been doing amazing in his training, in our time trials he already ran 15:31, and we haven’t even started the season yet,” Pacheco said.

“I had him as a student also in his freshman year, and he’s a hard worker and really good student too.”

Other top runners include Inban Kathiravan, who should be the Warriors No. 2 runner as a sophomore.

“Very strong and expecting him to be very low 15, or breaking 15 this year,” Pacheco said.

“Iniyan Kathiravan, brother to Inban, is also very strong, probably our number three,  also a sophomore, expect him to be low 15’s or under 15.”

Pacheco is also looking for big seasons from freshmen Thomas Yohn and Aidan Antonio.

Two athletes stand out on the girls side.

“Abby Biber ( a junior) has been running very strong this summer and was one of our top two varsity (runners) last year,” Pacheco said. “Hannah Wilbur (a sophomore) is  our other top two runner.”
