Northwood High School’s baseball team handed Woodbridge its first Pacific Coast League loss Saturday, defeating the Warriors 4-0 at Ryan Lemmon Stadium.
Northwood is 4-2 overall and 3-1 in league. Woodbridge, which had been alone atop the league standings, fell to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in league.
“Paul Grossman threw four scoreless innings to pick up the win,” said Northwood Coach Doug Euper.
Grossman gave up three hits, struck out eight and went 1 for 2 at the plate with an RBI. Bobby Bangs threw three scoreless innings to notch the save. Bangs allowed one hit, struck out four and went 1 for 2 at the plate, Euper added.
