Portola High School’s girls soccer team is off to the semifinals of the CIF Division 3 playoffs.
The Bulldogs won 1-0 in the quarterfinals Saturday over La Habra on a golden goal in overtime. The victory was secured by freshman Jenna Verplancke with 7:34 remaining following a La Habra penalty.
Portola will face top-seeded West Torrance Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Portola, according to Athletic Director Peter Abe.
