Orange Lutheran, Pacifica Christian and Capistrano Valley Christian earned top seeds in their divisions in the CIF Girls Basketball Championships.
The playoff pairings were announced Tuesday by CIF. There are 283 teams competing in 10 divisions, officials said. Wild card games in some divisions will be Thursday with opening round games on Saturday.
In the open division, Trinity League runner-up Mater Dei is seeded fourth behind Etiwanda, Sierra Canyon and Centennial Corona.
Mater Dei will open the pool play tournament at home Saturday vs. No. 5 Rosary.
Orange Lutheran, an at-large entry from the Trinity League, is seeded first in the 2AA division. Orange Lutheran opens up at Foothill Saturday. Sage Hill, the San Joaquin League runner-up, is seeded second, Santa Monica, the Bay League at-large entry is third and Crean Lutheran, the Empire League champion, is seeded fourth.
The Saints (20-3) earned a first-round bye and advanced to the second round on Wednesday.
Santa Margarita is seeded third in the 2A division and Calvary Chapel, the Orange Coast League champion, is seeded second in the 4AA divsion.
Pacifica Christian, the Academy League champion, is seeded first in the 4A division. Capo Valley Christian, the Academy League runner-up, is seeded first and Laguna Beach, the Wave League at-large entry, is seeded third in the 5AA division.
