The Mustangs (7-3) move into the championship game Saturday night at 7:45 against Villa Park at Godinez.
Omair Memon (17 points) led Yorba Linda. Alec Mena and Cory Knutson added 12 points each for the Mustangs. Memon and Mena each sank three 3-pointers.
“In tournaments, you’re able to stretch your bench a little bit and see what kind of players you have and who plays when the game is real,” said Yorba Linda Coach Jason Pietsch. “We found a couple guys who have been playing well for us and we’re riding them right now.
“When a couple shots go in early in the game, it obviously gives them confidence and loosens them up a little bit and the defense is probably a little energized by that. But our defense has been really good lately. It’s a great win.”
Yorba Linda led 40-33 after three quarters and finished the game outscoring CVC 13-8.
Festus Ndumayna led CVC (3-1) with 16 points. Blaine Petronis added 11 points.
