Yorba Linda, Tesoro, Godinez Cypress and Tustin boys teams record league wins

Yorba Linda’s boys basketball team posted a 68-41 victory over El Modena Friday night in a North Hills League game.

The Mustangs (12-10, 2-0) were led by Chance Sandoval who had 17 points and Cory Knutson who had 16 points.

Jacob Stock scored 17 points to lead El Modena (14-6, 0-2).

Tesoro 66, Laguna Hills 44: The Titans (17-3) won their Sea View League game on senior night. Matt DeAngelo had 19 points and six rebounds, Kaden Garrett had 17 points and four assists, Mike Mahlen 11 points and Kyle Ritscher 11 points and four steals. Tesoro held a 33-19 halftime lead. The Titans are tied with San Juan Hills for first place with 3-0 marks.

Godinez 50, Westminster 46: The Grizzlies notched their first Golden West League victory. Andrew Valdez scored 20 points and Joseph Lopez 13 points to lead Godinez (12-9, 1-3). Westminster (5-15, 1-3) was led by Matthew Brookins with 19 points.

Cypress 65, Kennedy 38: The Centurions remained atop the Empire League with a perfect 4-0 record. Cypress (17-5 overall) was led by Christian Chai, who had 14 points. Eddie Spencer had 12 points, Kai Nagano had 11 points and Elijah Vaielua had 11 points and 14 rebounds.

Tustin 47, Pacifica 41 (OT): Jason Naranjo led the Tillers in the exciting Empire League game with 19 points.  Kyan Patel added 14 points including a 3-pointer with 13 seconds left in the overtime to seal the victory.  Ben Ahinaquah added eight points and 15 rebounds for Tustin (15-7, 2-2).
