The 30th annual National Classic at El Dorado launched Saturday with a home run derby. Ryan Kim of San Dimas won the competition, finishing with five home runs in the final round.
JJ Cruz of Gahr was also impressive with eight home runs in the first round. Among the other competitors were Cooper Munro of Beckman and Parker Haskell of El Dorado.
The tournament starts on Monday.
