University High School’s baseball team defeated Sage Hill 9-5 Saturday afternoon in a Pacific Coast League makeup game at Uni to capture the three-game series with the Lightning.
University (4-2, 2-1) won the last two games of the series.
Austen Barnett pitched six innings and struck out five, allowing eight hits and three earned runs to get the win for the Trojans. Jamison Lobianco retired Sage Hill in order in the seventh inning.
Uni had 13 hits. Barnett had two hits, Chase Nguyen had a single, double, two runs scored and an RBI, Blaine Anderson and Shay Eldridge each had two hits and two RBI and Cooper Berger went 1 for 3 with a run scored and an RBI.
University opens a three-game series against Portola Tuesday at Uni.
