Mater Dei (Division 1) and Beckman (Division 3) earned top seeds for the CIF girls volleyball playoffs that begin this week.
Other seeded teams include No. 3 No. Huntington Beach (Division 1), No. 2 JSerra and No. 4 Orange Lutheran in Division 2, No. 2 Capistrano Valley Christian in Division 4, No. 3 Irvine and No. 4 Northwood in Division 5 and No. 2 Orangewood Academy in Division 8.
Division 1 is a pool play tournament.
For other divisions, there are wild card matches Tuesday and first round matches Wednesday and Thursday. The championship matches will be held at Cerritos College and designated home sites on Saturday, Nov. 4.
The other top seeded teams are Redondo Union, West Ranch, Ventura, Sacred Heart/Los Angeles, Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica, Temecula Prep and Rosemead.
