Irvine captured a 29-12 victory over University to improve its record to 2-1 in Pacific Coast League.
Marc Filia led the Vaqueros passing for three touchdowns and 172 yards.
Eddie Castillo rushed for 209 yards for University (1-2).
The Vaqueros had a 15-6 lead over University at halftime of a rescheduled Pacific Coast League football game at University.
In the first half, Filia passed for 52 yards and an 8-yard TD pass to Bryce Tanikawa. Irvine scored first on a 2-yard TD run by Ryan Ellis.
University cut the lead to 8-6 on a 2-yard TD run by Eddie Castillo. Castillo rushed for 135 yards on 19 carries in the first half.
Also today, Northwood defeated Portola 33-7 and Cypress topped Crean Lutheran 35-7.
