Tesoro’s boys basketball team wrapped up its second consecutive Sea View League title, defeating Laguna Hills 58-26 Thursday night.
The Titans (21-4, 7-1) jumped out to a 22-0 lead after one quarter and led 33-8 at halftime. Matt DeAngelo scored 33 points and made seven 3-pointers and also grabbed seven rebounds to lead Tesoro.
Mike Mahlen had seven points and four assists for the Titans.
Cypress 61, Valencia 55: The Centurions (23-5, 10-0) wrapped up their third straight perfect league season with the victory. Eddie Spencer scored 28 points and sank four 3-pointers and Christian Chai 11 points and three 3-pointers. Elijah Vaielua had six points and 12 rebounds. Coach Derek Mitchell’s team has won 30 in a row in the Empire League over three seasons and wound up the regular season winning 20 of 21 games.
Northwood 71, Beckman 69: Shandon Sharifi had the game-winner in overtime with 5.5 seconds remaining to help the Timberwolves clinch third place in the Pacific Coast League.
Sharifi had 28 points, making five 3-pointers, Amit Flint had 16 points and Trent Harper 13 points for Northwood (11-17, 6-4).
Beckman (15-13, 7-3) was led by David Manea with 22 points, Shervin Ghazimorad with 12 points and Dowon Kim with nine points. The Patriots finished second in the PCL.
San Juan Hills 41, Dana Hills 39: Grant Alarid had 11 points to lead San Juan Hills (11-17, 5-3). Jacksyn Foti had the buzzer beater winner for San Juan Hills, which clinched second place.
Crean Lutheran 69, Pacifica 60: Junior Mike Birket scored 15 points and freshman Ben Abate scored 14 points to lead the Saints in an Empire League game. Sophomore James Agany scored 13 points and senior Josh Shin had 13 points for Crean Lutheran (16-10, 7-3). The Saints wrapped up second in the Empire League.
Pacifica Christian 63, Saddleback Valley Christian 55. The Tritons finish up the season 21-7 overall and 7-1 in league play, tied with Fairmont Prep for the top spot.
Brea Olinda 70, El Modena 66: The Wildcats (16-11, 2-3) were led by Ivin Rhaburn, who had 26 points and Aiden Stewart, who had 13 points.
El Dorado 62, Yorba Linda 59: The Hawks (17-10, 3-2) clinched second place in the league. John Bakke scored 25 points and Dane Kiefer 17 for El Dorado. Yorba Linda was led by Chance Sandoval with 17 points and Luke Ishikawa with 15 points.
