Estancia High School senior guard Jaedon Hose-Shea has had a memorable senior season, leading the Eagles into the second round of the CIF So Cal Division IV regionals.
The No. 9-seeded Eagles (24-9) play top-seeded Chatsworth (17-14) on Thursday night in Chatsworth.
The 5-11 Hose-Shea is averaging 26 points overall and 30 points in the playoffs and is tied for the scoring lead in Orange County, according to Eagles Coach Xavier Castellano.
Hose-Shea led Estancia into the state playoffs for the first time since 1991. The Eagles’ 50-42 road win on Tuesday over No. 8 Monte Vista was the first state playoff win for the program since 1991.
“Jaedon is the hardest working kid I’ve ever coached,” Castellano said before Thursday’s game. “The time, effort and dedication he has put into the game of basketball and his teammates is why he is one of the top players in Orange County and is also a big reason why we are having a successful season.
“He is our leader, a great teammate and a great representation of our school, our community and our team.”
