It was a special day for the Segerstrom girls tennis team on Friday.
Segerstrom defeated Western 10-8 to capture the CIF Division 5 title.
“This is the first CIF championship for Segerstrom girls tennis,” said Athletic Director Nick Canzone.
Head coach is Jack Trinh and assistant coaches are Kevin Nguyen and Daniel Trinh.
Roster: Fatima Burke, senior; Teresa Dinh, junior; Paige Dinh, junior; Vicky Do, junior; Juliane Hang, junior; Ashley Lam, freshman; Irene Le, senior; Emily Ngo, senior; Thy Nguyen, junior; Julie Nguyen, senior; Tais Nogueira, senior; and Rose Antonette Vivencio, junior.
The announcement of the CIF title was made at Friday’s CIF football playoff game between Segerstrom and Katella.
The team finished the season 21-1.
