Cypress High School’s football team was unable to slow down Downey High and standout quarterback Aidan Chiles in the CIF Division 4 championship game at Western Friday night.
Downey rolled to a 40-7 victory after jumping out to a 26-7 halftime lead.
The Centurions were out to win their second CIF title.
Downey was able to win its fifth CIF championship. The Vikings improved their record to 12-2.
