Portola High’s all-purpose football player Kaveh Wojtowich signed his letter of intent to college football at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, according to Athletic Director Katie Levensailor.
Wojtowich was a standout wide receiver, defensive back, kicker and punter for the Bulldogs, who won their first Pacific Coast League championship.
Portola, like other schools around the state, had to cancel signing day ceremonies this year so Wojtowich had to make other arrangements for the signing.
“He is a fantastic kid,” said Levensailor. “We are bummed that we cannot host a spring signing day and wanted to make sure he is celebrated virtually.”
Portola football coach Peter Abe told OC Sports Zone earlier what an impact Wojtowich had.
“He’s our school’s first four-sport scholar athlete (well over 4.0 plus GPA and National Football Foundation Scholar Athlete honoree), two time first team all-league player, 2018 team MVP, 2019 Portola defensive player of the year, establishing/breaking his own school records in receptions, receiving touchdowns, interceptions, passes broken up, and almost every Portola special teams record,” Abe said.
