PORTOLA 71, WOODBRIDGE 59: The Bulldogs captured their fifth victory in a row.
Tyler Huang scored 16 points, Ryan Chu had 13 points and Eugene Jung nine points to lead Portola (5-3, 3-2).
Woodbridge suffered its first PCL loss after four wins. The Warriors (5-3 overall) were led by Marley Jaisel with 18 points and Nygle Williams with 16 points.
CREAN LUTHERAN 43, PACIFICA 28: The Saints won their second straight Empire League game. Crean Lutheran (4-1 overall) was led by Mike Birket who had nine points and seven rebounds, James Agany, who had six points and six rebounds and Parker Tuttle, who had six points and five assists.
CYPRESS 55, VALENCIA 50: The Centurions (4-3 overall) won their second straight Empire League game out of the gate.
“Danny Ortega is taking over for legend Dean Yoshimura at Valencia and they haven’t missed a beat,” said Cypress Coach Derek Mitchell. “
Cypress was led by Christian Chai with 18 points. Kody Papke added 14 points for the Centurions, who take on crosstown rival Kennedy on Friday.
TROY 68, SUNNY HILLS 49: Troy was led by Kyle Phan, who scored 30 points. Raayan Khan had 13 points, David Ballester 12 points and Armaan Khan who had eight points.
Justin Shim scored nine points and Johann Kwon eight points for Sunny Hills (3-12, 0-2).
NORTHWOOD 63, IRVINE 37: The Timberwolves (3-2) were led by Amit Flint, who scored 14 points and Mazen Shehab-eldin and Devon Huang, who scored 12 points each.
BECKMAN 82, UNIVERSITY 52: Dowon Kim scored 20 points, Jake Morrison 18 points, Ethan Bozzo 16 points and Clinton Nguyen 12 points to lead Beckman (4-4, 4-1) in the Pacific Coast League game.
University fell to 1-4.
