After two seasons, Kevin Conlin said he has resgined as head baseball coach at Portola High School.
“I have stepped down as head baseball coach at Portola High School to focus on family and pursuing a teaching career,” Conlin said Saturday. “I learned a lot from my time at Portola and hope to get back into coaching when the time is right.”
Conlin led Portola to a 5-3 record in the 2020 season, which was shortened due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Bulldogs were 5-19 this year in the Pacific Coast League.
Portola finished the season with two victories against Laguna Hills, which advanced to the semifinal round of the CIF playoffs.
Conlin coached at Estancia before taking the Portola job.
Athletic Director Peter Abe said the position has been posted, but no replacement has been made.
