Portola and Woodbridge girls basketball teams advance to tourney finals

PORTOLA 61, CYPRESS 45: The Bulldogs won in the semifinals of the Christina Mauser Memorial Tournament at Edison.

Portola (12-4) plays Claremont in the championship game Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

Laguna Hills meets Dana Hills at 1 p.m. Edison faces Maranatha at 2:30 p.m. and Fountain Valley challenges Cypress at 4 p.m. in other games at the tournament.

Moka Saiki scored 27 points and Kira Watanabe added 16 points to lead Portola to the semifinal win.

Cypress (10-6) was led by Myia Collins, who scored 19 points and Isabella Caceres, who had 10 points.

WOODBRIDGE 57, BASSET 19: The Warriors won in the semifinals of the platinum division at the Savanna Tournament. Hana Watanabe had 15 points, Teagan Burrus 12 points and Anna Jensen six points to lead Woodbridge.

Woodbridge (12-2) faces West Torrance for the championship Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Oxford Academy.
