“As a team we really dug deep and played hard for all four quarters,” said Coach Joseph Tagaloa. “Defensively we rallied to the ball which is necessary when playing a Wing-T offense. Saul Ramirez and Rey Garcia led the team in tackles.”
The offense was also solid for Segerstrom, ranked No. 1 in the CIF Division 10.
“Offensively we got our ground game going with long touchdown runs by Andrew Schouw and Nathan Tagaloa,” he said. “This was the first time this season that our offense ran for over 200 yards. Andrew Contreras also added two touchdown passes to Iverson Fuiava.
“Special teams was led by Anthony Gomez who did an amazing job switching field position and pinning Laguna Hills inside the 10 twice with punts well over 50 yards. I am really proud of our boys who continue to fight and get better every single day.”
Segerstrom faces University on Friday, Sept. 27, at University.
Laguna Hills (2-2) hosts Bellflower Friday night.
