Irvine High’s baseball team kept rolling Monday afternoon defeating Northwood 19-7 in a Pacific Coast League game for its sixth victory in a row.
The fourth place Vaqueros remain in contention for a CIF playoff berth.
“We were able to jump out early and had a much better offensive approach throughout the game,” said Irvine Coach Gabriel Cota. “We continue to work towards playing our best ball with some huge tests coming up.”

Irvine (11-7) was led offensively by Jeremiah Gedeon, who was 3 for 4 with a triple, two RBI and four runs scored. JC Allen was 2 for 3 with a grand slam home run, triple, four RBI and two runs scored. Taylor Skelley was 2 for 2 with three RBI and Matthew Kim was 1 for 2 with two RBI and two runs scored.
Sawyer Spivey got the victory, pitching the first three innings and striking out four. Chris Jeong pitched one inning, striking out one.
Northwood (4-12) was led by Adam Harper, who was 4 for 4.
