Caden Shaffer pitched a three-hit shutout and struck out seven to lead the Vaqueros.
“Today was all about our guy on the mound Caden Shaffer and our defense,” said Irvine Coach Gabriel Cota. “Caden faced one over the minimum and we played solid behind him. We were able to do enough offensively early to win the game, but their guy kept us off balance all game.”
