It’s a big week for Crean Lutheran’s girls basketball team, which is atop the Empire League standings with a 3-0 record.
The Saints (11-6 overall) play at Cypress Tuesday night and host second place Tustin (13-7, 2-1) Friday.

Crean Lutheran defeated Valencia 74-32 Friday night. Leading the way was junior forward Sydnee Norwood who had 18 points. Junior guard Jane Hewitt had 17 points and sophomore guard Jane Moyer, 10 points.
“It was a great team effort defensively by our Saints and offensively we were connecting right from the start,” said co-head coach Bianca Ziemann.
“We have had a lot of adversities this season more than seasons past from concussions, to injuries, to sickness. Overall, we are starting to find our flow on the court and we are excited to see how everything shapes up in Empire League and CIF (playoffs). We have a great group of young talented players.”
