Canyon High School’s girls basketball team is the CIF 4AA champion.
A big fourth quarter lifted the Comanches past top-seeded Rancho Cucamonga 52-43 in the final Saturday morning at Toyota Center in Ontario.
Coach Sara Brown’s Canyon team 35-33 going into the final quarter but outscored Rancho Cucamonga 19-8 in the final stanza to win. Canyon officials said it’s the first CIF title for the program since 2011.

Jasmine Prajitno had 20 points and Justine Prajitno 16 points to lead Canyon (22-11). Sofi Majidi and Everett Roach had eight points each for the Comanches. Roach had 11 rebounds and Majidi seven rebounds.
Rancho Cucamonga (24-9) was led by Ndiah Hall and Zara Ahaiwe, who had 12 points each. Canyon made 35 percent of its field goal attempts compared to 25 percent for Rancho Cucamonga.
Both teams move on the Southern California regionals beginning Tuesday.
