The Orange County Great Park Championship Stadium in Irvine will be the site of a baseball triple-header on Saturday, March 19 involving six of the seven teams from the Pacific Coast League.
“Admission is free for anyone who wants to attend, and kids in attendance will have the opportunity to compete in games between innings of each game and will be able to keep foul balls that are hit into the stands,” said Woodbridge Coach Ryan Brucker.
“As a league we decided it would be fun to host this event for the local community and to highlight the quality baseball that is played in the Pacific Coast League. The PCL is unique because it is made up of local schools that have become friends and rivals, and we hope this event can become an annual tradition.”
The PCL is a seven-team league and each round there is a bye. Portola got the bye for that day.
The schedule:
Northwood vs. Laguna Hills, 12:30 p.m.
University vs. Beckman, 4 p.m.
Woodbridge vs. Irvine, 7:30 p.m.
