DESERT HOLIDAY CLASSIC

SERVITE 54, VERBUM DEI 51: Servite (9-2) captured a win in the opening game of the tournament Thursday. Bruson Allen scored 18 points and Alex Pak 12 points to lead the Friars.

MT. CARMEL TOURNAMENT

MIRA MESA 66, EL DORADO 59: Elias Rodarte scored 18 points and made four 3-pointers to lead the Golden Hawks. Caleb Hendrix had 18 points and made two 3-pointers for El Dorado (14-2). Mira Mesa is 11-0.

SUNNY HILLS WINTER PARLAY

SUNNY HILLS 72, SIERRA VISTA 39: The Lancers improved their overall record to 12-6 with a victory in the opening round of the tournament.

TUSTIN CLASSIC

NEWPORT HARBOR 72, LIVE OAK 36: The Sailors won a pool play game Thursday night over the team from Northern California. Newport Harbor (11-4) was led by Jack Berry, who had 16 points and 10 rebounds. Gavin Guy had 12 points, five rebounds and five assists for the Sailors.

TUSTIN 61, MISSION VIEJO 51: The Tillers (12-4) were led by Yuri Klines who had 14 points and eight rebounds and Daniel Molina who had 12 points. Mission Viejo (6-9) was led by Damien Navarro, who had 18 points and Xander Willard who had 12 points.

TESORO 60, GRANTS PASS 53: The Titans (11-5) were led by Max Draper with 16 points. Owen Hatch added 12 points and Carson Hatch 10 points and six rebounds for Tesoro, which faces Edison Friday at 6 p.m.

OXFORD ACADEMY TOURNAMENT

SEGERSTROM 61, LA QUINTA 37: The Jaguars were led by Ricky Carballea who had 20 points and six 3-pointer. Gello Ramirez and Andrew Aguilar each added eight points.

AGBU Canoga Park 33, Godinez 27

DESERT HOLIDAY CLASSIC

MATER DEI 85, STANWOOD (WASH) 43: Luke Barnett scored 16 points, Evan Willis 15 points, Demarcus Henry 14 points and Malloy Smith seven points to lead Mater Dei (9-3). Blake Davidson had nine points, five assists and six rebounds for the Monarchs.

HOLIDAY CLASSIC

JSERRA 70, EAST CATHOLIC 49: The Lions opened the tournament in Torrey Pines with a victory Thursday. JSerra (11-3) jumped out to a 28-20 lead at halftime. Seniors BJ Davis-Ray and Dominic Bolton each scored 12 of their 17 points in the second half. Davis-Ray also had a team leading seven rebounds. Senior Jarne Eyenaga had 12 points.

CYPRESS 63, DEL NORTE 53: Ryan Gov scored 17 points to lead the Centurions in a Governor’s Division game. KIing Birdsong added 11 points and made 3 of 3 pointers and Gavin Kroll had nine points for the Centurions.

ALISO NIGUEL 68, MURRIETA MESA 55: The Wolverines (12-3) were led by Wyatt Richmond (17 points) and Jay Keys (15 points).

THE CLASSIC

FOOTHILL 61, GEORGE WASHINGTON PREP 52: The Knights opened the tourney in the Diamond Division with a win. Braden Davidson had 16 points, two assists and two blocks; Kai Nixon 15 points, seven rebounds and seven assists; Lorenzo Turner 14 points, four rebounds and three assists; and Danny Kennard 12 points, 10 rebounds and three assists.

CROSSROADS 65, SAN JUAN HILLS 55: San Juan Hills (10-3) was led by Mason Hodges who had 20 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists. Adam Aziz had 15 points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals and Garrett Brehmer 10 points.

LAYTON CHRISTIAN 52, SANTA MARGARITA 51: The Eagles (9-2) dropped their tournament opener. Kaiden Bailey scored 19 points to lead the Eagles. Drew Anderson added 12 points and 10 rebounds and Dallas Washington had 10 points and six rebounds.

ROLLING HILLS PREP 69, CREAN LUTHERAN 52: The Saints lost the opener of the tournament’s Silver Division Thursday. Hunter Caplan scored 17 points and Jacob Majok and Will Malual had 10 points each for Crean Lutheran (4-6).

ORANGE HOLIDAY CLASSIC

IRVINE 64, CHAPARRAL 46: Irvine (13-2) notched a win in the opening game of the tournament Thursday afternoon. Cooper Stearns scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Irvine. Stearns also had five assists and three steals. Holden Stearns had 10 points, four rebounds and three assists; Juan Martinez nine points and three assists and Evan Terakawa eight points.

ESTANCIA COAST CLASSIC

ELSINORE 99, VILLA PARK 95 (2 OT): The Spartans dropped their third game in a row. Mal Johnson scored 36 points with five 3-pointers to lead Villa Park (10-6). Johnson also had six rebounds, three assists and four steals. Tristan Griffin and Dakari Harris added 14 points each.

SAN CLEMENTE 76, ARLINGTON 65: Christian Fernandez scored 30 points and grabbed eight rebounds and had seven assists to lead the Tritons. Porter Hansen added 21 points.

CHARLIE WILKINS MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT

TARBUT V’ TORAH 72, LAKE ELSINORE 55: The Lions improved their record to 6-0. Jake Coblentz-Brown led the Lions with 30 points and 14 rebounds while Ari Varon scored 26 points. The Lions face Rancho Alamitos at noon Friday. Rancho Alamitos won its opener in a 59-56 upset over Pacifica.
